Early Morning Sun Through Trees by Jonathan Little. The oil painting captures the radiance of the early morning sunshine through the trees that illuminated everything in its path against the shadowy backdrop of the shaded trees.

About Me

People, Place and Light

I am a landscape and portrait artist based in the Yorkshire Dales. Working primarily in oils and charcoal, I explore the changing light, weather and character of the landscape, and the people who live and work here. My work is rooted in observation, drawing and the love of the natural world.

About Me

The Yorkshire Dales has been both home and inspiration for many years, fuelling my creativity with its ever-changing beauty. I spent my childhood in rural Buckinghamshire where I developed a long lasting love of the outdoors. I moved to the Yorkshire Dales early on in my working career and still find it to be one of the most inspiring and exhilarating places I have ever known. I love exploring the area and I am constantly inspired and energised by the beautiful landscapes I see every day.

★★★★★
“I've bought two of Jonny's paintings now, the first was 'sunrise' and the second 'early morning sun through trees'. The way Jonny captures both the light and shadows is truly stunning. It's a delight to see Jonnys work, and I've been lucky enough to have gone to several of his exhibitions. I can highly recommend purchasing from Jonny. The paintings were beautifully framed and came with a certificate of authenticity. They were safely packaged to avoid damage and Jonny gave me advice on how best to care for my paintings too.”
